I love you, Katy Perry.

no, i don't stalk her twitter to see what new nails she has each week...? i cant remember the name of the salon/people that she gets them done by but when i do i'll post it at a later date. oh, if i had her money. she is just amazing. what a BABE.

Money alone sets all the world in motion.

i am so confused. like, i don't understand money. i was only saying to the girls today in the car, why cant things just be free. like why cant we go shopping and maybe just be limited to maybe 2 bottles of soft drinks. you know? maybe a big multi pack of crisps, some ham, cheese, maybe 3 litres of milk and 2 pans of bread. maybe one white one brown. some teabags, butter, jam, coffee, corn flakes. like we wouldn't loot the shops, just take our rations and be gone. same with clothes, we could pick out our favourite pieces. maybe like 10 a month. and then toiletries. maybe some soap, deodorant, painkillers, tampons, a 30ml bottle of perfume every 3 months. stationary: some note pads, pens, pencils, paint, sketch books, folders, plastic pockets, glue, glitter, scissors, a craft knife. obviously if everything was free people wouldn't really have to work, there could just be security guards making sure people took only their specified amount. and then college fees. teachers would just love what they do and get joy out of helping people learn. so everything would just be as normal but money didnt exist. i wonder what the world would be like. there would be no debt or repayments, mortgages or bills. people wouldn't have to worry, only about personal matters. which are what matter most.
this post is very much aimed at and related to my recent problems. i'm having a bad day. could you tell?
i have a job, which i am so happy about, and grateful for, but there is an issue. i don't start until december 12th. which is so far away. i thought i would have received my first pay date and everything by this time. i wont. i wont get a cent until january, at least. i have so many things i need to pay for before this month. i have insurance for december and january, i have car tax, i have a 25euro a week loan to pay off, the one that i took out for a well deserved holiday to florida in june. i have to feed myself, run my car, buy my materials for college, and live.
i cannot depend on my mam for much of this, she helps me out so much already, but she doesn't earn much. my dad does, he doesnt usually leave me short, but as of late he has. for a reason i shouldn't have to write about. i never expected myself to be in this situation. a small family, in a nice house, with a dog. regular (ish) family gatherings, holidays, etc. but not alot of communication, apparently. i'm not sorry for growing up. this is life. i never would have been a baby forever. well, i'm still your baby but i'm a big girl now. this should not have pushed you away or made you stray. i dont know for sure if it is partially the reason or if you just could not take anymore of each other.
this is starting to get personal. it's been a long weekend, goodnight.

What choice have I?

the quality of this video is very bad. the volume is all unsteady, i cant get a decent one but it is actually sensational. such a strange combo, and lady gaga really tries to make herself shine in this but there is no comparison. even the difference in the size of their red and yellow guns. lady gaga's is merely a pistol. in fairness though her video for "bad romance" is hella good.

OOH, AAH, PAT MCGRATH, SAY OOH AAH PAT MCGRATH!

so a lady in college today mentioned this woman's name. we were having a sort of meeting with the fashion and media make up class to organize our looks for our first fashion shoot. she's not irish, surprisingly with that name. she was raised in northampton, in england. she's had no formal training in fashion or make up, only a year long art foundation course. she claims to love the industry that she has been working in for many years because it's constantly changing, it is never boring or predictable, every show and every shoot is different. she has done lots of prestegious work, which started off with her breakthrough while working with the then editor of iD magazine, edward enninful (early 90s). she has also worked with prada, miu miu, d&g, and comme des garçons. john galiano is also a big fan of her work. working with him led to her being known for her powder painted drenched bodies (does this sound right?), vinyl lips, and latex petals stuck to faces. vogue, alongside other commentators, have called her the most influential make up artist in the world. which is a pretty big deal, i would think? anyway i won't go into detail i don't know whose shows these are from but appreciate! all the same.

New Moon.

i'm very annoyed i wont get to see it at 00:01am tonight. or tomorrow... or saturday. i might have to wait. maybe i'll see it saturday night. i really am looking forward to it so much though. she wore oscar de la renta, abandoning her usual grungy style for an elegant gown. she looked absolutely unbelievable. the heavy eye make up still made an appearance along side a messy ''just out of bed'' up-do. she is a serious tomboy though, even from her panic room days, but there is a mysterious streak in her. she's very distant from everything. maybe because she's grown up with all of it surrounding her. a beauty.

he wore a crisp fitted black gucci suit and highlights in his hair. he looked as mouth watering as ever.

and baby Dakota showed up, with her 15 years of glory behind her, in what was said to be ''a beautifully intricate lacy Valentino minidress''. she has a look about her, like she would be hard work.

I'm not usually a fan... but these pictures are impressive.

i really am not into the whole Hello Kitty idea. but Gaga looks well and i cant picture anybody else doing this campaign. so i guess that is a good response on my behalf and probably one that was sought after?

iView

2 tomorrow. i'm pretty psyched, and pretty darn scared. the first one is at 10am and the second one is at 7.30pm. there is a gap. a gap for one hour of styling, two of drawing and one of communications. with no break. so i will have plenty to keep me occupied.
i'm always so afraid i'll go braindead during an interview. i have so much to say running through it in my head. customer service, link selling, open ended questions, current trends, how i relate myself to fashion... etc.
anyway i have lots of things to get done this week my ideas keep changing for my headpiece and my corsage. what to do.
black and gold is all i know so far but that is so popular in class. sigh.

we watched a marc jacobs dvd today in college, something to do with his collaborations with louis vuitton, and his own collections too. apparently he doesn't usually allow people documenting his creative ways in any form. but this one was an exception, i'm not sure why. but i enjoyed it. he smokes alot. and is a very good looking man. with alot of contacts/friends/followers. people like Demi Moore and Lil Kim. he drinks shots of rare fruit juices. and has a right eye called joeseph. he seems like a very admirable person, and looks after the people who work for him. he does not own a house or a car, his possesses only art and sculptures. which i think is odd, but in a way, kind of sad. he has nowhere to go after a long day at work. he has no fire to light. or no kettle to make a cup of tea in.

oddly like the richard avedon photo in one of my last posts...
:)

wish me luck, x

Did it again.

zooey deschanel, she is just gorgeous. i love the fact that she is so passionate about what she does. i love watching her. yes man, 500 days of summer, and elf. mostly 500 days of summer. which also has an unbelievable soundtrack. as ridiculous as i feel for saying this, i forgot how much i love music.

i am in awe of this song. it reminds me so much of working in a wear last year. it's eerie. as is another song that reminds me of working there elbow - grounds for divorce. now that i think back i wonder why they chose such songs for the music. anyway it kept me going. fave.

i came across this remix when i was watching the chanel ready to wear a/w 2009 fashion show, i thought it just fit so perfectly. i loved hot chip even before hearing this but it just makes me crave more. genius.

"Thanks so much for getting back to me, I really appreciate it."

i'm quite sick at the moment, i am positive that it is a kidney infection but because of the recession and all the rest, i have not gone to the doctor, but taken "tabletki" from a reliable source. i took 2 this morning, with a"Herbapol Poznan" and i cant say i feel any different. i hope this changes though.

i am a magazine hooker as of late. i feel as though i have to buy a particular 4 the past couple of months, vogue, elle, iD and Dazed and Confused. I'm not sure why i think it just fits. there's a bit of everything i need in each.

we were in the National Gallery of Ireland a couple of weeks ago to see paintings from the victorian period, as inspiration for our photoshoot coming up in a couple of weeks. to our horror (yeah, HORROR ;) ) it was closed for the day for re-hanging...? anyway, we had a look around so as not to waste a day that was meant gallery exploring. we headed into the gift shop after and our two tutors were there at the back of the store ripping the plastic off all of these books to have a nose. they had one in particular, it was Avedon Fashion 1944-2000, which they ended up buying for the fashion department for 70 odd euro! i've been looking through it whenever i've had a chance and the pictures are amazing. the outlines in the photos, and the silhouettes and all the rest. awesome.
